Yeah I don't really want to deal with the risk of desoldering it unless the wires are of a decent gauge, I'll take a look.
Those replacement headband covers are a nice idea though, I'm fine with the Etsy look as I am mostly concerned with comfort and not getting leatherette flakes everywhere. It's cool cause they're washable.

Not sure if that will work with the cushioning for the HD600 being a bit different...

Can't guarantee it will fit perfectly, but this is they type of pad many use. There is another available directly from Beyerdynamic.
Due to the size of the ear pads (huge in a great way) they’re very comfortable, but the headband that rests on the top of your head could be a bit more cushioned, as it is pretty hard. This is easily remedied with extra cushion pads such as this for a cheap option, or this if you want something higher quality for a bit more buck.
One other thing worth mentioning, they do seem to leak a decent amount of noise, so if you plan on using these on public transport, keep the volume low.
