I would also actually suggest a prebuilt like this one, it'll be hard to build something with better specs at that price https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076BR99G3/ref=psdc_13896597011_t2_B077S27YLP?th=1

Wow! There are a lot of comments here...

Ok, if he is only playing esports titles (Overwatch/LOL) then you do not need a $1000 PC. You can get one if you want like the Dell Inspiron desktops, they are actually really good for the money. (check r/buildapcsales for deals on these "pre-builts")

However, if you want to save some cash and still have a decent rig that can be upgraded later if needed. Then get something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Desktop-Computer-580-148/dp/B076BR99G3/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=retroscienc06-20&linkId=f32ff889f30ae7ee067c3f928bfa910d

OR

*Better card, but less ram, no ssd, and less powerful CPU

With those options you will have some cash left to save, spend on a monitor/keyboard/mouse/ect. or buy some more games on PC to play!

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND: You do not need anything better than a Ryzen 5 and here is why:

  1. Most new games do not use more then four cores max, if that. 2. Ryzen is not as good as Intel for gaming, and the best use for a Ryzen 7 or better is video editing and heavy tasks like that. Now, I would suggest AMD over Intel at the moment because of upgrade path and the meltdown issue with Intel.

You do not need more than 8-12GB of ram and here is why:

  2. More ram will not help you in gaming because the system will only use so much and that's it, so adding 16gb for a game that only uses 4-6 is pointless. 2. It is crazy expensive at the moment and it is better to only buy what you need and not overspend. Now, if you plan on doing a lot of multi tasking, video rendering, ect. then 16gb is the way to go, although I assume that is not the case.

You do not need a crazy expensive GPU to play games and here is why:

  3. I have a 1050 ti and it will play everything I could want and then some on med-high settings at 1080p and 1440p no problem. The best you should need for now is an RX 570/1060
I hope that this helps you make a good educated decision and I hope that he is happy with your choice :)

Hm, okay. It seems like your above the recommended specs for the game, but still seem to have trouble running it regardless which is interesting. From what I've read you clean the dust out of your PC regularly already, so my only suggestion would be to download a utility such as CC Cleaner or IObit's Advanced System Care 11 and a defragmenting tool like Smart Defrag 5 which is also from IObit. I would try using these programs first before diving into buying a new PC and see if they help at all. I'm assuming you have anti-virus software so I would run that as well just to be sure.

If that doesn't work then I found a few pre-builts with pretty good specs for a reasonable price.

Option 1 $840 [NEW]

Option 2 $869 [REFURBISHED]

Option 3 $900 [NEW]

Option 4 $934 [NEW]

[Option 5] (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA65C6WA5644) $1450 [NEW]

The 5th option is only if you want to go balls-to-the-wall, the cheaper options I've included should run Stellaris without a hitch.

I have a prebuilt pc
This one in particular: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076BR99G3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Been looking to upgrade the case and psu so I can eventually get a better graphics card that'll actually fit and these cases look great so I might go with one of them. I've never done this before so is this something that's pretty easy to do or recommended? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.

Hey guys!

I'm looking to get a decent pre-built, is this the best one for the price?

u/Dillyizlame · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks is. What do you think about the PSU? Thought about upgrading it to the 600w. I’m also comparing it to this prebuilt https://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Desktop-Computer-580-148/dp/B076BR99G3/

The value is so good on that prebuilt tho.

This one looks pretty good to me, but slightly over 700 unfortunately.

This one is 500, should run OW just fine, but wont hit 60 fps on high for some more demanding games.

u/Pastorof_Disaster · 1 pointr/buildapc

That build is pretty solid, the current market for building is pretty bad. Ram and gpu prices are crazy right now.

Normally, I am against pre-builts, but the value is there right now.

https://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-Desktop-Computer-580-148/dp/B076BR99G3/

That one is on sale now, and is a pretty good value.

Keep an eye on /r/buildapcsales and sort by new. You'll find some good stuff.

What are your thoughts on going for a prebuilt like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076BR99G3/ref=psdc_13896597011_t2_B077S27YLP?th=1 for what I need? It seem very similar and surprisingly seems cheaper/about the same as the seperate parts.

Its not like im married to this line of pc's, i just also happened to see this one and i would be willing to spend a bit more. It has 16gb of ram and an SSD. still has 3gb gpu and im not sure how the AMD compares to the i5. thoughts? and thank you
