> "What will it cost? A flagship price is all but guaranteed"

In 2015 I paid $400 for a new Nexus 6.

Before too long I'll need a replacement that will work on Project Fi, and I think that over $600 for a phone is unreasonable, especially with so much competition and how rapidly new models come out.

The honor 8 would be your best choice under 300 dollars. the moto g4 performance doesn't match the honor 8 and the mini has poor battery life. i see some verious price options on [amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01IVV7W8M/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1483501594&sr=1-6&keywords=phone&condition=used&linkCode=ll2&tag=dimz04-20&linkId=4469457ffd59752d3cd4760ce1f598c0) maybe this can help.

Could you go for $550? https://www.amazon.ca/Honor-Unlocked-Phone-Sapphire-Warranty/dp/B01IVV7W8M

The Honor 8 is really a good phone. I wish it weren't so expensive in Canada, but it is. I think it's worth the extra $50 though.

The Honor 8 is available on Amazon for $259.

>Edit: Huawei Honor 8 for 290 best buy open box?

$290 for an open box one is not great deal considering it goes for $300 brand new at Amazon.

Can vouch for the Honor 8 though. Totally love mine. It's super fast, the battery life is quite good, the camera is awesome, and I like the software quite a bit.

I have no experience with any of the phones mentioned above so this is all based on reviews but the P8 doesn't really seem like much of an option. Due to the limitations of the P8's GPU, the performance seems to be in the level of the snapdragon 801 which is a 2 year old chipset. This is not surprising since the p8 was released in April of 2015. I'm not saying it's a bad phone but it is already quite outdated..

From what I understand, you are trying to keep it under $300. I seems to me that you will have to choose between the following:

Honor 8

OnePlus 2

If you are willing to pay a little extra you should have a look at the ZTE axon 7, the oneplus 3(if you can find it) and the xiaomi mi5.

Best of luck

Yeah, those are pretty nifty but I don't see the point when you could buy two of these. I'd probably still be using my ZMAX Pro if I hadn't switched to Sprint though, that thing was stellar bang/buck and performed very well. I just got a family member the Honor 8 since it's on sale for $260 and that's probably a great middle ground- with a72/a52 8core, NFC, USB-c, and 4GB RAM, the extra $30 is worth it IMO. The 64 GB version is $334 if you're into that. The big downside for me is that it only supports T-Mobile and AT&T-based carriers whereas my G5+ works on all US carriers.
