No, it's okay! It happens to the best of us. Check out this desktop CFL that I've been using. Cheap, does the trick. Happy plants :D

This is my current set up- the larger plants on the bedside table get 12-15 hours of the CFL a day, plus whatever light filters through the window. I move them around every other day so that they can all get as much light as possible. The light over the propagation station (hehe) is on a timer, and is on for three 2-hour bursts a day. http://imgur.com/a/QSO3M

I agree. Give it as much light as possible! You could even supplement it with something like this https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-FLF27D-Desktop-Plant-27-Watt/dp/B008UZJQMA It is only 27 watts but it would help a lot if combined with the light it already gets. I had some VFTs under this exact light and they did just fine. Just remember VFTs do need a dormancy period though. Some people stick them in the fridge for a few months.

They are all marketed as horticultural lamps, BUT there is really no difference between those sun lamps for SAD and what a plant needs. So a fun side effect of having so many plant lights is that my apartment feels bright and cheerful in the winter :)

Maybe you've only seen the LED plant lights that are red/blue? Those are an attempt to be super efficient and provide plants with exactly a single wavelength of light for growth or blooming or whatever. But most commercial growers just use T5 or T8 full spectrum daylight florescents and since my plants are in the living room, that's the type I prefer for both of us!
