I highly suggest picking up the oral history of MTV called "I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution" one of the most entertaining reads I've had in quite a while. The things that went on are mind-bottling.
I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution Fascinating, especially if you're obsessed with pop culture and/or the 80s. It's a really fun, easy read, even though it's kinda long.
Read this book. So fucking awesome.
It doesn't look like there's a lot out there, but there are two possibly promising books out there. One is already for sale, and the other will be out by month's end. I haven't personally vetted either of these, but they seem like a good place to start.
