There's really no difference between the Japanese version and the American version. It all just depends on the dub. Japanese subtitles refer to Mothra as 'Mothra' whereas the English dub calls it 'the Thing' CORRECTED

Currently there are 2 DVD sets that include the film (it has never been released by itself on DVD or Blu-ray.

Both sets are incredibly cheap and comes with a few different monster flicks.

Both are the same, though I prefer the Icons version as it has a fantastic commentary! But it's really just a toss up on what films you prefer to go along with it.

Awesome! Almost identical to my collection, even with Sumogorillas! I have the American King Kong vs Godzilla, and I wish I had the 2014 version in Blu-Ray. I also haven't seen Gamera.

I recommend getting these to help fill in the Mothra & Rodan gaps!

I have the Icons of Sci-Fi: Toho Collection DVD which includes both the Japanese and US cuts of Mothra on one disc and two other Toho movies on two other discs. I've seen it in another cheap multi-movie set or two, but there it's only one version of Mothra and I'm not sure which (I assume US) and it's four or more movies on a single disc. Even if you aren't interested in the other two movies, this set is still worth the price to have both versions of Mothra.

Best I can offer I have the other sets with mantango didn't know they got so hard to find now glad I got them when I did.
