Windows 10 does a lot of backend stuff to make booting faster for everyone, but the real benefit was loading up Steam, Chrome, Afterburner, and Skype really quickly. For the HDD, I used this enclosure, since I needed extra USB ports anyways.

I put a majority of my Steam library on the HDD, but keep things that I play very often (like Overwatch and Hearthstone) and essential programs (like ShotCut and RawTherapee, and the Office Suite) on the SSD. Keeps it feeling snappy, and Steam manages multiple drives fairly well.

I have this https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Enclosure-Supported-Tool-Free-FE2007/dp/B00T2ODFCU

With 3 USB ports so I can daisy chain drives. I just don't want to be bogged down to needing my laptop connected with the drives everywhere.

I haven't shucked my 8TB easy store yet (it has external power) but if I plugged it into a 3.5 enclosure and chained it with the Inatech FE2007 would I need any power for the WD RED since there is a DC 5V connection on the innatech enclosure (which has a shucked seagate backup plus slim 2TB)??

Get this one. Works great for me. You'll get three more usb 3.0 ports along the way.

BTW internal storage doesn't go to sleep which is normal.

The USB controllers seem to not be compatible. A USB 3.0 hub is an option (get it with a return policy though, because I guess it's trial and error). I had this SSD enclosure anyways, which also offers 3 USB 3.0 ports: amazon.com/dp/B00T2ODFCU. This works.

I was barely able to run it using Bootcamp on my 2015 13 inch Macbook Pro, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5. It was playable around 30fps on the lowest settings. I wouldn't recommend it for normal playing but it's ok in a pinch.

I installed Windows using Bootcamp on an external SSD. You can buy this and a cheap SSD, works great.

After looking again at Amazon...I also found this option with a built-in USB hub.

Does this solve all my problems??
