I used this tutorial as well for my making my plates.
I recommend buying the PID controllers from Inkbird themselves its cheaper and they added Fahrenheit.
Inkbird ITC-106VH $29.99 Amazon.com the wire diagram provided in the tutorial is still exactly the same.
I also ordered my aluminum from Midwest Steel Supply they are cheaper and you can order the size you want. I recommend using smaller 3x3 plates for a half to one ton arbor press to increase overall PSI and also help your rosin flow away from the heat.

Edit: to anwser the question, is an arbor press the way to go? The more pressure the higher the yield possible depending on the strain your pressing. I opted to build a 6 ton press myself using this from harbor freight also use this 20% off coupon
