Don't know what to search for. I'm completely new to this and I'm having a hard time finding what I want because I don't know what it's called.
I'm in the market for a high-end stand-alone all-in-one wireless "stereo" (?). I want to be able to play music from my computer (located elsewhere in my home) via wifi?, bluetooth?, and at the very least, aux from a cell phone/tablet. I would prefer if the entire unit was one piece with only one wire for plugin. Doesn't have to play CDs. Something that looks really cool would be a definite bonus. Cool ambient light and/or glass/metal preferable. Budget: no more than ~$1,500.00.
What is what I'm looking for called? If I knew what these were called I'm sure I could do more research for myself. Searching for bookshelf stereos has been fruitless. Most of them have detachable speakers, and are generally too highschool for my tastes. I want something that will look super slick on a bookshelf in a classy sitting room. But I also want it to be functional with minimal wires.
Maybe this isn't the place to post this, but the audio quality isn't all that important to me (though I expect if I'm paying a significant amount that the quality is at least passable). Looks/functionality more important.
What should I be looking for? Recommendations? Cheers!!
