Which is both a good and a bad thing. If one only types about style, then it is good thing, because there should be variety in styles. Once you include the entire package, yes, there are not that many in the same league.
IMHO: Artists who are:
Rowntree's Subnormality and
Ware's many works including, Jimmy Corrigan the smartest kid on Earth
If you like that comic, I'd recommend Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth. Pretty similar, in both art style and plot.
EVERYTHING by Chris Ware; he is an amazing graphic designer as well as an illustrator.

Also, there are several "Acme Novelty Library" editions, #18 just happens to be my favorite.
