If you want to be able to sew thick seams and webbing, or whatever other heavy material (leather, upholstery fabric, vinyl), an industrial walking foot is great. But they're expensive. Probably the two most popular medium-weight walking foots are the Juki 1541 and the Consew 206RB. There's a slightly lighter-weight and cheaper Consew P1206RB as well, but I've never used one.
Industrial drop feed machines (stationary presser foot, like a home machine) like the Juki DDL-8700 are faster and stronger than a home machine, but won't walk over stuff as easily, and are really designed for apparel. So for jackets, they're probably great (but still pretty expensive).
Ideally you can find a used industrial that runs great. That's how I found my Juki 1508. But if you've never used one or are new at sewing, it's probably better to learn on a home machine. Wear out a Singer Heavy Duty, they're only a couple hundred bucks.
