My two most used items I got off amazon.

Kingston Datatraveler: The most solidly built flash drive I've been able to find for the money so far. They have a 3.0 version now but it looks like the key chain is made out of plastic.

Leatherman Skeletool: Good multitool that is versatile without being cumbersome.

I'm using this kingston 32Gb flash drive I got on amazon for $21 and it works great.

Hahaha, glad I could help, I love my Leathermans and I'm sure you would too, and I second the Tasman salt and hawkbill advice you got from ninjamike808 (or any Spyderco for that matter).

Do look into some SAK models as GL1207 says, maybe you can find something that fits your needs even better.

As for the Corsair Survivor, I'll drop my experience with flash drives: Yes it's awesome and your info will be completely safe, but think about the bulkiness not only in your pocket/lanyard, but also when plugging it into a desktop computer or laptop. Something of that size does get in the way, blocking ports or making you angle or tilt the PC in a weird way to get it plugged in, so just think about it.

Another option is something along the lines of a Kingston DataTraveler, or the LaCie Key series (although those are more expensive), but as you said, that is your preference, and you make your EDC, so rock it the way you like it.

I carry a bag/purse/murse/whatever to hold the stuff in the second pic.

From left to right

First photo:

1: 5$ amazon flashlight. For something this cheap and good, its a steal.

2: Trusty gerber knife. I know there is some gerber hate round these parts but I got this knife about 7 years ago and its still going strong. You can see that I get it sharpened and it sees its use. This is not an aesthetic designer piece. This is a "I cut shit up" piece.

Second Photo(contents of my man bag):

1: Kindle. 80 bucks, endless enjoyment. Ive read the entire Dresden Files series, and a couple dozen other books on this puppy. The side buttons really are a great feature.

2: Car/House/Store keys + Kingston Data Traveler 32gig Flash Drive Smaller than my pinky and its very durable due to the construction.

3: Some random hair gel I got from a beauty supply. Love the product tho. Cost me like 3 bucks.

4: Deodorant.

5: Suave Dry Shampoo. Very handy when your hair is all oily. Cheap as well.

6: Benadryl

7: Target Wallet. I actually lost one similar to it, drove to every target within 15 miles and none of them had it. Finally ordered it online. Yes I liked the design that much :)

8: Sunglasses Case

9: Kirkland Moist Flushable Wipes. These things a fucking great. Face oily? Wipes. Sweaty and feel icky? Wipes. In a bathroom somewhere and their tp is sandpaper? Wipes. srsly.

10: Sunglasses

11: Galaxy Nexus with extended battery + seido active case.

12: YSL Babydoll perfume: Smells great, and isnt overpowering.

13: My savior in a pill: Allergy Meds.

14: A microsoft branded grid-it like thing I got at a thrift store for a dollar. Currently holding a tube of itch ointment, a pen, hair bands, hair clips, tweezers, and lip balm.

I carry one of these little Kingston USB drives and it gets the job done. That one's USB 2 but they make slightly larger ones in USB 3

Pretty new to EDC but figured you guys would be interested in a few things I carry, which I haven't seen here in my short time browsing.

  • Folding one-foot ruler with leather case (you'd be surprised how much I use it)
  • Antique Anheuser-Busch matchsafe (also called Vesta Case)
  • Timex Miliatary Watch
  • Will Leather Wallet
  • Vintage (B+L) Ray-Ban Sunglasses
  • Kingston DataTraveler USB Drive
  • iPhone 5
  • Vespa and house keys (looking to make these slimmer)

If you're looking to buy one, I recommend this Kingston, which is very similar, still pretty cheap, but has much better read/write speeds than the PNY (people complain about it being slow in the Amazon reviews, not sure what the actual numbers are)

Ah yeah. Here's the link to the flash drive. Just enough to keep those connections safe. Really sturdy little thing, I've got no complaints about it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4G2YXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_U-cNwbKEF5H33
