Putting a scoop (250mg) of Liftmode Theanine in your coffee is probably the easiest thing you can do and the best value. Liftmode's purity is unmatched as well, they include a lab analysis in your order.

I bought mine on amazon.com along with some anhydrous caffeine. The reason it's available is that L-theanine isn't a drug at all, but an amino acid and a precursor to GABA. It has synergistic effects with caffeine, but it's kind of limited in what it can do. I think the main thing is that if your GABA levels are dropping, having an excess of theanine makes it easy to keep them high, thus boosting your concentration.

Keep in mind that unless you have a scale that reads .01g accurately, caffeine can be dangerous to consume. 150mg is a very very small amount of powder.

Pointless waste of money.

Get some caffeine

Maybe some Ephedrine (I use Synephrine, ephedrine's little brother)

And for me personally I find I function better when I add in some L-tyrosine

Finally I like to add in some L-theanine which helps prevent any kind of jittery feeling.

I usually use:

  • 100-200mg of Caffeine
  • 100mg of Synephrine (Start lower at 25mg and work your way up to a dose that works for you).
  • .5-1g of L-Tyrosine
  • 100-200mg of L-Theanine

Everything I use would cost you $40 and it will last quite a while.

>He is over weight but not like me. His ex wife actually had surgery to lose weight and after she did they split up.

The question is whether it's your mood that's the problem, or the fact that you are losing weight that is the problem for him.

I've known of more than a few guys like this.

There are a bunch of guys out there who not only are supportive of women when they are gaining weight, but actually attempt to make them bigger.

Some of them genuinely are only attracted to larger women. Others use it as a form of control, because the idea is that as you get smaller, you are more attractive to the rest of the population.

Their logic is kind of dumb, because there are as many guys that like big women, as there are that like size 2's in yoga pants.

Anyway, that's the delusion they carry around.

In addition, at this point, if you don't change your eating habits, he doesn't have to change his.

As far as support goes, may I suggest, if you are financially able, to supplement with some amino acids. My wife and I are both on Keto, and we both have found that L-Theanine calms us down quite a bit.

It costs ~$14 at Amazon, and the Lift Mode brand is great. It's one of the most active ingredients in Green Tea, and it's super-concentrated. It has ~300 servings in that little jar.

edit: It gives you a sense of relaxation...sorry, should have mentioned that.

Take it with some caffeine (it mitigates the jittery effects of caffeine).

You'll feel better, and be much more motivated. I've found that it makes you a little more focused, as well.

Hope this helps a little bit.

L-Theanine is a good counter to the caffiene jitters. It naturally occurs in green or white tea but you can buy a powder version. Haven't had the tightness in the heart since I got some. The amount linked is good for ~200 cups.

I started with a brand of Suntheanine too with similar beneficial results. I made the leap to pure powder and I find it's cheaper, more flexible dosing, and more effective results overall. Here's what I have, I highly recommend checking it out. (Edit: Lift Mode (50g, pure, $15): http://www.amazon.com/L-Theanine-Grams-1-76-Pure-FBA/dp/B0093UHQPA )

Rule of thumb is to take twice as much l-theanine as caffeine. Walgreens sells 200mg tablets of caffeine in quantities of 60/100 for very very cheap, it's Walgreens brand but it's called "stay-awake" on the bottle. As a result, I take 200mg of caffeine and 400mg of l-theanine. I order my l-theanine from liftmode on amazon, as they ship it with a chemist evaluation and are about the same price as anyone else. Buying l-theanine over the counter at a store is difficult and expensive. The only place I could find it near me was a GNC and it was only 60 200mg capsules for a little over 20 bucks, that's just 12 grams. Liftmode sells 50g of l-theanine for 14 dollars and it qualifies for prime shipping: http://www.amazon.com/L-Theanine-Grams-1-76-Pure-FBA/dp/B0093UHQPA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1374384517&sr=8-5&keywords=l-theanine

People rave about suntheanine brand l-theanine. I tried it and it was no different, more expensive, and harder to control the dosage since it's already made into a pill. Liftmode sells theirs as a grounded powder in a neat container and it comes with a 250mg dosage spoon. Very easy to control.
