So, I haven't mentioned it on here much, but a couple of weeks ago I finished and published my first creator-owned graphic novel, Letters from Midia. Fun fantasy action story heavily inspired by Legend of Zelda and Samurai Jack. No punch girls or Woolie lookalikes sadly, but I do manage to throw in an enemy that was blatantly inspired by Dark Souls bosses. .It's been in its own quiet area of the Amazon store, but it was pretty fun to take the project from concept to completion.

One of my big goals for the book was to take it and my portfolio to NYCC, which I have done. The good news is that one day in I have received some very excellent feedback from professionals. A few big names drawing comics today were pretty positive about my art. I was even told to consider showing my portfolio to some editors, which I'm going to try to do today.

Bad news is that one pro was very unimpressed with my stuff. Not going to name names, but he is known for being honest, but critical. It's a bummer to feel that an artist you respect doesn't see much in you, but his criticisms were helpful. Not keeping me down.

This is what it's all about, guys.
