as /u/Angelfiji said, you need to register your game with origin. So yeah if you were to go on your husbands computer, register the game with origin, then download origin on your computer, you should be able to download the game through origin as long as your logged into your account.
Alternatively if all else fails you could get an external disc player. they're dirt cheap nowadays. something like this one would work fine. you just plug it in a usb 2.0 port.
What do you mean "Santa"? Are you implying that he is not real? This makes me uneasy.
If you're doing some work with videos, given the price range I assume it's light editing, I think you'd do best with this refurbished ASUS Q501LA.
It has a beautiful 15.6" 1920x1080 IPS touch display (ideal for media production), an i5-4200U, 8GB RAM, backlit keyboard, and high quality construction. It's really a great deal given the quality of the laptop. This is one of the few times I think getting a refurb is really worth it.
It, much like most laptops, does lack an optical drive, though. This is easily remedied with an external optical drive. That way it doesn't add weight or battery consumption to the laptop, but you can still use it when you need it.

1. A much more reliable hard drive. Seagate is notorious for their drives failing after a year or two. I have two Western Digital hard drives that are still running very strong, even after a year and a half.
2. The R9 280X is a solid card and runs most games at ultra to high settings at 1080p. This is the Gigabyte version, so the cooler performs really well.
3. There are no internal optical drive slots, so here's an external one: http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-External-Software-GP50NB40/dp/B00AWRTXVS/ref=zg_bs_1292112011_3
I can't speak for those specifically, but I have this LG external drive and it worked on my Surface Pro (and now Surface Pro 2) without a problem.
Just grab a usb dvd drive for $20 and call it a day.

You did say that you won't be overclocking, but not having the option to overclock is a bit absurd at this budget so I included it anyway.
It fits all of your specifications - your desired case, colour scheme, keyboard, SSD, (external) optical drive, powerline adapter and monitors.
You can expect very smooth FPS at ultra settings for pretty much any game out there on 1080p resolution. You also have the option to SLI in the future, though I wouldn't upgrade your monitors' resolutions to any higher than 1440p since you will experience microstutters once you start using more than 3.5GB of VRAM.
Could something like this be a solution?
