I wrote a whole book about how things fall into place.

The part I always tell is how I was leaving Camden 2004, ready for a hellish drive up to the already-backed-up Coventry. I was by myself and a middle-age dude knocks on my window as I was in traffic leaving the lot:

"I'm your driver for Conventry. Unlock your door, slide over and get some rest." He seemed friendly enough. I awoke and we're a few hours away. Paul from Telluride had driven all night. We stopped for provisions and the locals told us to avoid the Interstate and take the highway. We had 3 hours of traffic and parked on the dry tarmac. Paul stepped out to set up his tent and I never saw him again that weekend. I didn't get any contact information.

I was in Telluride 2 weeks later, after the String Cheese Incident show and didn't have a place to stay yet, as camping and rooms were booked. Walking out of the venue, I said "Who's got my floor space?!" Paul grabs my shoulder and says "You're staying with me, my friend. I'm just across the street- come meet my wife and enjoy my couch."
