+1 on the "use an actual spark plug wrench."

If your actual spark plug wrench (6 point) won't fit in the hole, look for a thin wall 6 point spark plug wrench (set).

Adding a few more tips here.

Spray some good penetrating oil (PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench) down in there and give it some time to work in.

If it still runs, or if you can get it running with 3 new plugs and the old one, warming the thing up to operating temperature might help. Try getting the plug while it's warm, or let it cool down again and try later.
