Kids aren't that stupid, and the idea is probably to have parents read it with them. I get the impression that the book does a reasonable job explaining sex and reproduction in simple terms.

If you look at Amazon, it's got a good deal of positive reviews... and the negative reviews don't seem to have any complaints about children having difficulty understanding the subject matter... instead, they're just angry about the idea of teaching children anything about sex.
