I really like the blend I’ve come up with. Flaxmilk is wayyyy better than almond milk as far as taste and texture in my opinion. I like this powder in the vanilla and chocolate mocha flavors - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0052ONXWQ?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

My boyfriend likes the taste a lot and asked me to start making him one with mine if the endorsement helps lol. It helps settle my stomach when I’m hungry but it is not great for fillingness to calories ratio, but I get thru work with 800 calories to spare for dinner and a snack and that’s really nice.

Ease your way into being a vegetarian, if that’s your goal. Even cutting down to two meals a week with meat will make a big difference - being vegetarian doesn’t necessarily have to be all or nothing. I don’t like the way that “purity politics” play into a more veggie lifestyle. If you’re a vegetarian every day except a reward steak on Friday night, I would respect you way more than a vegetarian who meat shames and eats mac n cheese or pizza every meal. I started by only eating meat in restaurants and not buying it anymore. Winter sadly is a lot harder to not eat meat, so go easy on yourself.

Try Field Roast Apple and smoked sage veggie sausage, Trader Joes soyrizo, and their veggie burgers (Black Bean, Thai, and Pizza ones are SO GOOD). Check out the monthly seasonal vegetables/meal ideas on cookieandkate.com. I also love smittenkitchen.com

Complete protein veggie supplements tend to be pricier than whey and soy protein powders. I use this. It's the best bang for your buck that I have found. Just look at the list of ingredients (including amino-acid profile), but beware that it has xylitol and stevia in it, so it is very sweet tasting. To balance that, I find it goes well in a smoothie with kale and spirulina (I also add creatine, flax, unsweetened almond milk, half a banana, and lots of water/ice for a great breakfast smoothie). The other option, as you said, is to just supplement with amino acids.

Llittle early since I'm only a week in, but definitely no negative effects and I can't say definitively it's the turmeric but I am doing unusually well right now as far as symptoms.

Just taking the recommended dosage (15 ml) but I'm a 6 foot, 190lb male so could probably up the dosage, which plan to starting week 4.

Coming off a 4 month UC flare, one of longest have had. Only med I took (during 1st month of flare) was prednisone, which didn't do the trick, otherwise been experimenting with non-drug alternatives because nothing else I've taken works anymore.

Anyway, just started getting better about 2 weeks ago and really the only unique thing I was trying was a protein powder from MRM https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0052ONXWQ/

No idea what's in it that might be working, but it's the 4th protein powder I've tried and the only one I started doing much better while taking and I'm sticking with it.

I added VSL probiotic 1. 325 billion packet starting last week, which is a lot less than I used earlier in flare with not huge impact.

All symptoms (blood in stool, urgency, frequency, stool consistency) are the best they've been in about 5 months, and except for about 10 days last November, all are the best in probably 5 years.

In my opinion the protein powder was a big help and turmeric may have boosted it more since improvement ramped up since started. I'll see how long it lasts.

I have my life back but only issue is lower left ab pain has not gone away, unfortunately. It's only thing reminding me I have uc!
