Do you need peripherals? Any rgb/color preferences?

Anyway without knowing that, here’s a pc that looks nice and will blow away almost any games you throw at it

Depends what you need. Just need something reliable with good cooling for the VRM's? Then the B450 Tomahawk MAX is a pretty good option. However if you need Wi-Fi the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC is pretty good as well especially since it's on sale right now because of Flack Friday again it depends on what you need from the motherboard.

u/Timtheuselessgod · 3 pointsr/PcBuild

I’d save a bit of money and go with a b450 board unless you absolutely need the pcie 4.0. this MSI tomahawk is good or this Gaming pro Carbon if you want wifi built in. The other things I’d swap is your ssd for an intel 660p. It’s cheaper and faster.

As for a cooler, with the black theme you’ve got going a dark rock pro 4 would look pretty sweet in there, just check compatibility with your memory for clearance.

Its currently $139 on Amazon but the B450 Aorus Wi-Fi works too. It has solid VRMs so it should handle the 3600x no problem. The Pro Carbon does have better wifi as well though in case that matters to you.

> competitive fps's and MMORPG's.

Go Intel over AMD based on current generation hardware. Competitive FPS generally means high framerates. That means single-core performance is the big difference here. MMOs are highly single-thread dependent. In both cases, Intel wins with current hardware.

Refer to my other reply (which you may have already seen at this point) for further explanation on why I believe Intel is better for your needs. However, I'd advise waiting to see what the Ryzen 3000 series offers if you have the luxury of waiting. If even conservative speculation comes to pass, it may finally match Intel in single-threaded performance while maintaining the multi-threaded advantage. Best of both worlds, if it comes to pass.

> From what i read the 16 threads are what make the ryzen a good choice, but looking at the benchmarks the 9600k looks so much better.

Cores/threads are only useful if the software is using it. The majority of today's games don't benefit from more than 4 cores, even accounting for OS/system/background tasks. We are starting to see a push for games using 6-8 threads, thankfully, but even then, the 6 faster cores of the 9600k outperform the 8 slower cores of the 2700X.

> My point is from what i saw on videos more threads might be better for playing MMORPG's.

MMOs don't really benefit from more threads. They benefit from faster single-core performance. Using World of Warcraft as an example, they added in DX 12 support with patch 8.0, and added basic multi-threading (draw calls split across cores/threads) in 8.1. It still favors faster single core performance, [AS SEEN HERE] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5fHtDZehmw).

> btw whats a good MB for either case?

I'm actually waiting for the Ryzen 3000 series myself, but I have an Intel backup plan in place should it disappoint. If going Intel, I recommend [THIS BOARD] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HM753YR). If the high-end Wifi doesn't matter, save a bit and step down to THIS for some cost savings. These boards are otherwise offer a similar experience.

If going with current gen AMD Ryzen, I prefer [THIS BOARD] (https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Motherboard-B450-PRO/dp/B07F85YKLJ). Not an MSI fanboy, just really fond of their current generation hardware, and I prefer boards with competent Wifi.

u/coololly · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Nope, if anything it would perform better as the Nitro+ has a higher clock speed.

Amazon have the same board and they ship internationally:

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Motherboard-B450-AC/dp/B07F85YKLJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536325966&sr=8-1&keywords=b450+gaming+pro+carbon

And dont use the DS3H, its a load of crap.

That keyboard uses otemu purple switches, which are clicky switches.

If you want a more silent switch, get this one:

I manually entered the price on the mobo because it doesn't show up on PCPartpicker.

I still think you could just save budget with 16 GB RAM but that's your prerogative.

u/A_RED_BLUEBERRY · 2 pointsr/Amd

If it's the official MSI account selling it on Amazon it should have the updated BIOS. Even if it doesn't come with the updated BIOS that mobo has BIOS flash so you can update it without a CPU or memory installed, all you need is the motherboard, a power supply, a USB drive, and another PC to download the latest BIOS.

This is the official one on Amazon that should come with the latest BIOS so you shouldn't have to update it.

u/Dark_Alchemist · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

I think I found it - I think I found it - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F85YKLJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Has that damn AC WiFi that I will disable as I prefer good old Cat 7 lan hardwire.

Oh, check out its bios - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu9ZD18a9CY

u/KingTocco · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Thanks for the response, after reading your comment and doing even more research, I think I'm going to get this mobo: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F85YKLJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Seems to be one of the best and it's only a few more dollars than the one I was looking at, plus it comes with WIFI so I don't have to buy an adapter.

Thanks!

u/Savletto · 1 pointr/buildapc

This baby right here? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F85YKLJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Well, that is settled then, thanks! Perhaps the only question I have left is how the hell do I pick a good PSU.

u/EroAkali · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Alright so the B450 Gaming Pro is what I need, but I just saw the price and it is too much. https://www.amazon.ae/gp/product/B07F85YKLJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2QUTRSO1ZHRN9&th=1

It is 350 USD. While the B450 tomahawk is half of that.

Yeah I already changed it to the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.

So the motherboard can only handle 4 case fan connectors. So if I want more, I need to get a splitter? I don't understand. So I should only get the maximum 4 fans total for the whole case?

I also want to add that I want to OC my GPU and CPU later on.

MSI Pro Carbon Out of stock right now on Amazon but pretty sure other places will have it

u/SleepinYeti · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Where do you see the pro carbon ac for 135? Do you have a link?

https://www.amazon.ca/Performance-Motherboard-B450-PRO-AC/dp/B07F85YKLJ is this not it?

u/arshsekhon · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Same price on amazon. Should I get this for ryzen 5 3600x? There a people complaining in the reviews that it did not work for their 3600x.

u/Mythicguy · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Go with this one then. This does support bios flashback.

u/J0539H_ · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

All with WiFi:

Best B450:

https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07F85YKLJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Au9WDbJ3P9VT8

Best value X570:

ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi)
Same one you were recommended but with Wi-Fi and it's in stock on Newegg https://m.newegg.com/product/N82E16813119197?m_ver=1

Both offer similar features and are very reliable, it comes down to preference. The newer X570 that might get better upgrade options, or the B450 that's a tad cheaper and will probably still offer great CPU options down the road.

u/KillaKast16 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Like it won't arrive until december, everywhere is sold out.

Any reservations with me goign for this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F85YKLJ?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

u/Lastnv · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'd get a b450 motherboard and skip the hassle.
I'm waiting for this one to come in the mail: (B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F85YKLJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IUcQBbT1CK3D2

There's also an Asus Strix b450 if you really wanted to keep the mobo Asus.

u/festbruh · 1 pointr/buildapc

it just means that if you use the m2 slot, 2 sata ports will be disabled.

btw, if need wifi adapter, i suggest you get the b450 gaming pro carbon. that mobo comes with great vrms and has builtin wifi.

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Motherboard-B450-PRO/dp/B07F85YKLJ

u/Sheepshaman · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Would the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC mobo work well for plugging in these headphones?

u/SolidBladez · 1 pointr/buildapc

Are you referring to the B450 TOMAHAWK? That's $100 after $10 rebate. Both don't have the best VRM (MSI has a better heatsink though). I'd get the MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC.

Edit: For $25 more dollars you can get this 16GB memory kit.

u/Xxtrabeast · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm leaning towards this build, but just have a question regarding the motherboard. Is this https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Motherboard-B450-AC/dp/B07F85YKLJ the one you're suggesting?

u/RedditIsFullOfSoy · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have this one

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Performance-Motherboard-B450-PRO/dp/B07F85YKLJ

But I despise WiFi and only use wired connections.

u/RecalcitrantBeagle · 1 pointr/buildapc

Was on Amazon, looks like it's currently out of stock though.

How likely is this motherboard going to have Ryzen 3000 support?

u/YourShocksAreFine · 1 pointr/buildapc

What would be the best case to move over to with this motherboard:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F85YKLJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And intending to install one of these NZKTR coolers:

Looking for something roomy to make installation easy. Will be moving from current case I dont like.
