I'd sit on /r/laptopdeals and /r/buildapcsales (with a laptop filter) for a few days looking for a decent CPU, and then whenever you find a laptop check it against Crucials upgrade tool to see if you could shove enough RAM and memory in it to make you happy at https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/upgrades.

Personally, I own https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WLVXPYP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and when I have some more money laying around I'll shove in more RAM up to it's maximum 32gb ( https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/MSI-(Micro-Star)/ps63-modern) and pickup a larger drive.

If you can stretch you budget a bit, I'd suggest the MSI PS63. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WLVXPYP

Its an older model hence the discount, but it packs an i7 with a 1050ti.

If thats too much then take a look at this Aspire 5. Its much more of a budget laptop but it comes with an i5 and an entry level MX250 dGPU. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TJ21K7T

Hi, I think that the MSI PS63 Modern could be the right option for you. You get an i7 processor, GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, 8 GB RAM (extra slot available) + 512 GB SSD.

here - on Amazon.

Couple of great options were already recommended, I would go with this one.

O haven't seen anything smaller with similar performance in that price range.

And it looks like the price went up on that model too, at least at Best Buy.

Here are some other's I found, albeit with a little less powerful GPU.

The laptop linked above only has 8GB RAM, but it should be upgradeable to 16GB RAM if you wanted.

Here are some other options too.

Sadly the Asus tuf won't get you more than 3 Hrs. Max so you could also consider the Msi Ps63 it can last for around 9Hrs. on battery .

Yeah it’s this one https://www.amazon.com/MSI-PS63-Modern-096-Professional-GTX1050Ti/dp/B07WLVXPYP so its the model with the i7 8565u processor and a gtx 1050 ti. I don’t think there is a hinge problem can you let me know what you mean by that so I can check?

u/pointless_sheep_21 · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Dude the ROG is at 2000 dollars off. But it does only have 4hrs battery. Also the ROG CPU greatly outperforms the vivobook one( the i7-9750H) is in the top 4 cpus for laptops and also probably has better thermals. The vivobook doesn't seem that well built in comparison and you only gain 0.5 hours but it does have a more profesionnal look. The GPU however, the 1650 outperforms the 1050 by around 52%.

All in all, if you don't mind the "gamer" look of the ROG go for it(better performance and build).

The vivobook is decent but its performance is subpar.

Also if you want something that can game and has a much better battery look into the PS63:

If you are willing to pay an extra $100 (U.S) this is the best laptop for you

The one I want is thePS63 modern laptop 096 . I do not know why it is not sold on BestBuy. It’s on sale right now but I’m still unsure if I should buy it or not.
