A lot of pregnant women anecdotally report that folic acid helps hair grow faster, and there is a youtube vid saying it helped grow it faster too (a bunch of anecdotal evidence but no legitimate studies and some people do report they see no difference because of it). Anyway, I take a one-a-day teen for her, two of the nature's bounty hair, skin and nails bottle (they suggest three, but since I'm petite and I'm already taking other vitamins, I cut the third out)(there are also other brands that offer mutlivitamin aimed at hair skin and nails - such as GNC, Spring Valley) a 400mcg folic acid vitamin (some off brand one) and occasionally a vitamin C during cold and flu season. Vitamins A,D,E,K are fat soluble and the rest are water soluble. This means that you'll pee out all excess vitamins except A,D,E,K, which are stored in the body fat. I would watch those and always check with a doctor, especially if anything develops that you wouldn't expect (I've had no adverse side effects that I can tell). Biotin is reported to sometimes cause people breakouts, so if you get a bunch of pimples...that could be the cause. During the shower I massage my scalp (when I'm conditioning it) for a good fifteen minutes. Nothing harsh or too fast, just slow and relaxed. Supposedly, this helps blood circulate in the scalp. Other than that, the only thing I've heard that helps with length is keeping the splits away. Wearing silk scarves, keeping the hair in a ponytail so it doesn't rub too much on clothes (also I think pulling it up kind of helps get the blood flowing in the scalp cause I can feel my heart beat in the skin for a few minutes, you know?), and getting trims. Don't let the split get too far up the shaft - such a quick way to lose length. Hope this helps! :)
