With Reiki, it's important to remember to be as clear as possible when letting reiki flow. It's possible your own expectations are blocking or inhibiting the flow.
As reiki level 2 also operates at a higher frequency, it's possible the energies have become more subtler than you're used to.
It would be interesting to hear what your clients have to say when comparing different treatments to see if they feel anything different.
As for alternatives, I've found two of Brett Bevell's books to be quite good.
[The Reiki Magic Guide to Self-attunement] (http://www.amazon.com/Reiki-Magic-Guide-Self-attunement/dp/1580911846) is a good place to start. You can try the self-attunements, but the stuff I really liked was the Sahu attunement and the possibilities it opens.
His other book, New Reiki Software for Divine Living, provides a reiki tool which really changed things for me and allowed me to layer treatments during my sessions.
I use the reiki tools provided in the books on a daily basis and it really accelerated my use of reiki past the second degree training I received.
