I started with a long braid that I would fold back up my head and then back-and-forth a few times. I found this was sometimes challenging to get all organized into my cap (and I have become lazy and I just got tired of braiding it). So I started doing a loose bun. I use the pinless technique from this YouTuber:

(I’m not a big hair-do kinda gal so this, braids and down are about all it do in life.)
Also she has an excellent swim cap one using the Speedo long hair cap:

I find it’s very hit or miss how wet my hair gets. Sometimes bone dry and other times not so much. Granted, I’m a bit impatient and not nearly as meticulous as she is in her video. 🤷♀️
Also, fwiw, I rinse my hair with dilute sodium ascorbate (vit C) after each swim to help get rid of any chlorine. Like a teaspoon or 2 mixed in a big cup of water.

Hope that helps!
It's sodium ascorbate not potassium, my bad: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000MGSHGQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XRXRDb4Z0GXQS
