All you need is a USB to barrel jack kit from Amazon and use a spare USB power supply that most have laying around the house (old cell phone charger).

I used:
Onite DC Plugs for small electronics and devices universal 5.5X2.1mm Jack to 4 Plugs 4.0X1.7mm, 3.5X1.35mm, 3.0X1.0mm, 2.5X0.7mm with 1x Cable 5.5X2.1mm to USB (4 tips +1 cable) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C5KQD5I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0kMYAbN9CCVVY

Plugged into a USB power hub in my networking closet. The base plug without any adapters works on my 2.0 hub.

Something like this and any standard USB-driven battery pack thing:

This type of plug is called "barrel jack" to just find a usb -> barrel jack cord that fits

I've been out all day today without plugging in. My Chromebook is an Acer CB3 -111, which runs Ubuntu via Crouton and has a 3.22 amp hour battery. Its internal barely lasts a single 8 hour work day.

With my new [$45 18 amp hour battery pack] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U0MH5V0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20), my math says I should be able to run the Acer for 56 hours straight.

Usually, by this time of day (about 3pm Pacific), I'm starting to worry about my battery - not today. It still shows 100%.

One caveat - the power pack didn't come with a 3.00mm x 1.00mm DC plug that fits my computer, so I had to buy it separately as part of [this pack] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5KQD5I/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20).

I could use the highly efficient (~25%), compact and foldable [12W solar panel] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ALRP46Q/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) to trickle charge the power pack (with the USB to 12V cable that came with the 3.0mm x 1.0mm DC adapter - plus a [female cigarette lighter adapter] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ISYGMWA/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) and the male cigarette lighter adapter that came with the power pack), but I don't really need to since it already runs for days.

Instead, I'm using the solar panel and its dual USB outputs to keep my iPhone and Galaxy S6 Edge topped off with a couple of [iPhone/Android switchable cables] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0140SISYM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20).

I've been using both phones all day and they're still at 100%.

I have experimented with a lot of mobile power setups - to include huge, inefficient flexible solar panels and carrying a lead acid power pack around - and this is the first one that actually works.

Hope this is helpful!
