I've been trying to teach myself the harmonica. It's really easy to get into (just buy a harmonica (like this or this and maybe a book) and then you can start! My family has always been musical, and playing music is a potent release for me. I'll try to upload something to soundcloud or something to chronicle my progress.

Anything over $40 should be good.
Common recommendations are the Special 20. I personally started on a Hohner Marine Band Classic. I've had good luck with both the Seydel Session Steel and the Suzuki Manji.
Get a C harmonica. All the beginner books are assumed to be in C. And again, spend at least $40. Everything below that price is crap.
