I've... got to ask the reason why you'd be running WoW on an SD card.

An SD Card has a maximum of 100,000 Write Cycles. As they are traditionally used for Cameras and the like this usually isn't a huge deal, because you'd need to take 100k photos, and even then you'd need to take those 100k photos across the entire size of the SD Card...

That being said a WoW install is huge, 50GB+ depending on add-ons. If you're running that, constantly, WoW has micro patches, writes changes to the files frequently for other reasons, and the like.

So while it was, certainly something that could work, it was going to fail at some point. Likely were averaging something like 15 to 65 write cycles every day on that poor SD card... and now it's fried.

I'd suggest, if you must have something external, to try and find an external SSD. These normally have support for many more write-cycles, so the point where it would be years before you'd ever have to worry about them.
