I use this case. It doesn't add too much bulk, and the squeeze feature works great.

Currently loving my Diztronic case. It's only $10 but provides a decent amount of protection in a slim, custom formed case. Also has more than plenty lip around the front edges to protect screen. It's not designed to be an otterbox-type case, or even a Spigen slim armor, but it'll save you from small drops and at a little grip, all in a decently thin TPU form for a great price. I've had diztronic cases for a few years and still satisfied.
There's really a lot of variety in the cases out there, so it depends what you're after, and what you're willing to sacrifice to meet those ends.
I went with diztronic for what I felt was the best compromise between price, heft, thickness, hand feel, clean-ability, button-press ease and rigidity, and no dust collection near camera-cutout.
Curse you Spigen for messing up the Pixel 2 line-up! But I liked their Pixel 1 offerings.
