I recently decided to switch it up from my normal American Crew Fiber use and branched out to see what hair products really make my hair look great. I wear my hair pretty short, generally from a crew cut until my hair grows over the edges of my ears around 3 months after a haircut. I also have black hair and dandruff, so any product that doesn't flake is a big deal for me.
I recently bought XX. After 2 days wearing it, it's my favorite pomade to date. It applies pretty easily, adds good hold for layering, and a moderate shine.
Before that, I tried Lockhart's Authentic Hair Pomade and did not like the overpowering smell, the hold, or the greasy feeling it left on my hair.
I also tried Smooth Viking, a brand that is highly rated on Amazon. It dried too quickly, was a stronger hold than Medium, and left flakes in my hair.
Will definitely be trying X and their Nolde Forest pomades as well. Kudos, Mailroom Barber!
