What's the point in going with the R9 380X over the 280X? Both have around the same performance, in some games the 280X is faster, see here.
I would pick neither. The 280X was a great pick when it was at 210€, but that seems not to be on the market anymore. 230€ for a GTX 960 is also a lot. The good pick is the R9 380 for 216€.
In all cases the 4460 is enough if not jumping to skylake.
Take build 3. Add

and another stick of ram for ~ $70 more.

$70 saved in the monitor. Bam under 700 euro i5 + 380 4gb. OP if you can do this with the rest of your build then do it. (//You'll be a little over budget you need a decent psu in it evga maybe $10 or so )

I'm thinking of upgrading my GPU from Geforce GTX 650, have an AMD Athlon x4 740 CPU and an EVGA 500B PSU, 8DDR3 ram and an MSI FM2-A55M-E33. I was just wondering which card would be better for me to buy, since it's a single GPU upgrade i will most likely make in 2 years or more,, so want to make most of it. These are different websites only to shwo the cards, i'm living in Lithuania so the prices will also be different.

Any thoughts on this setup before I order the parts?
Thanks!
They are probably better than most other retailers like ebuyer for example. Vram can be an issue especially in open world games but at 1080p most games should still do fine. I would spend some time looking at used 970's and 290's but if you want one now with 4GB have a look at this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/PowerColor-AXR9-380-PCl-E-Graphics-y/dp/B00ZUWDRY4/ref=sr_1_9?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1463578041&sr=1-9&keywords=AMD+R9+380+4gb
Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone can offer an opinion on this PowerColor R9 380. http://www.amazon.com/PowerColor-Video-AXR9-380-4GBD5-PPDHE/dp/B00ZUWDRY4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464042425&sr=8-1&keywords=powercolor
For an R9 380 with 4 GB of VRAM, I think the price is very attractive with the rebate. What I'm concerned with are some of the reviews. Between Amazon and Newegg, I've seen a number of reviews complaining about drivers that don't function properly, including issues with game crashes, while others spoke about the card running too hot for their tastes.
My questions are: (1) does anyone know if the driver/crash issues have been fixed or at least mitigated with AMD's latest drivers, and (2) what can be done about the heating issue, should I experience it myself? I've read about software that can be used to better regulate the fans or something of that nature, but I'm very unfamiliar with such programs (I'm new to PC building in general).
Much appreciated as always guys.
