Here's the mic I use https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wall-through-Handheld-Wireless-Microphone-Transmission/dp/B06WP9GXM1/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1504302539&sr=8-2&keywords=2.4ghz+microphone and here's the usb ethernet adaptor https://www.amazon.co.uk/Network-Adapter-Rankie-SuperSpeed-Ethernet/dp/B010SEARPU/ref=sr_1_9?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1504302583&sr=1-9&keywords=usb+ethernet+adapter+3.0

The default instructions for the router with theTPCast has it set up between your home router and the PC, meaning all the network data from the internet and your home network pass through it. It works fine like this but it has to always be on and I wouldn't be convinced of the security of it all. Most PCs only have one ethernet socket, so by attaching the router through one of these the TPCast router can be turned off when it's not in use and it is only used for the tracking info. The only caveat is that your home subnet has to be on 192.168.0.x rather than 192.168.1.x so that the PC still connects to the internet/home network as it's primary connection. Does that make sense?

One other thing, the mic might seem like a bit of a pain, but the quality is waaaay better than the vive internal mic - voice attack actually recognises all my commands now!

This is the micro USB adapter that I'm using and the tablet will still charge, but will charge slower. One thing I've noticed is that if I'm playing graphic intensive games such as Borderlands the Presequel or the Talos Principle, the battery will slowly drain even when it's plugged in, but won't die if it gets to 0%.

This is the ethernet adapter I'm using. As for connection speeds, I'm on 5ghz wifi when not connected to ethernet. I've ran speed tests and they're about the same, although I get much better latency when I'm connected via ethernet. In fact, the only reason I got the adapter was for a better GeForce Now experience.

USB Ethernet adapters could work as well. I'm running ESXi with 9,99€ Rankie USB3.0 to Ethernet Gigabit adapters... They have Realtek 8152/8153 chipset inside, so drivers should be no problem.

Thanks, I didn't know this.

In the end, instead of the WD-15, I ended up ordering a StarTech TB32HD2 (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01ANR5AJU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).

Additionally, since the laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, I picked up a USB3->ethernet adaptor too (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B010SEARPU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
