Well, I've got a shade sail that will mount underneath the lights with bungee cords for shade during the day. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S1TXNSS/)
At night it's mostly aesthetics and a mounting fixture for lights, makes it feel very cozy.
As far as lighting goes though, it really lights up the entire back yard and makes it all usable at night. Our grill will be relocated nearby with more furniture.
Longer term - going to build a woodworking shop (probably 15x25ft footprint) a little further out with a patio to turn this into a bigger contiguous hangout space.
