If you are looking to buy a fan, I recommend this one by Rowenta because it is very quiet. I bought two and frequently forget to turn them off because they are so quiet. They also move the air quite well. The only bad thing is that the metal tends to rust after a few years, so I recommend spraying the metal with a clear coat to inhibit that rust.
I love this and am attempting to do the same, but I have no motivation right now. Anyway, I like my floor fan a lot. It's one of my favorite purchases ever.
