Sure thing man:

  • Tape off all of the parts around the headlights. I would recommend using plastic bags instead of newspaper since wetsanding will get the newspaper wet and you'll need to clearcoat it.
  • Prep the headlights. I would recommend washing it down with water or even acetone, but not too much. Just enough to get the dirt off.
  • Grab 1000 grit sandpaper and wetsand it in a horizontal direction. Be sure to keep it hydrated at all times! I would recommend doing this by hand because I almost fucked my headlights up with a power tool since I wasn't keeping it hydrated enough. Doing it by hand will ensure it'll always have water. Do this until it's hazy.
  • Grab 3000 grit sandpaper and wetsand it in a vertical direction. Again, keep it hydrated and I also recommend doing this by hand. After you're done doing a few passes of this, the headlights should be super hazy, but they should also be a white-ish color.
  • Grab your clearcoat spray and give it a couple heavy coats of clearcoat and the haze will literally turn clear like magic. Let it dry for about a day and it'll be good as new!

Some kits provide a rubbing compound to place after the sanding process (Meguiar's for example). If you plan on clearcoating your headlights (which I highly recommend doing as it keeps it looking new longer), SKIP THIS PROCESS. The rubbing compound causes a reaction with the acetone in the clearcoat and will damage your headlights and you'll have to do it all over again.

    Here are some resources:

  • ChrisFix's video, which I used: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEJbKLZ7RmM My steps are slightly different from his, but both work form my experience
  • Clearcoat I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078WLTSX4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You're roughly looking at about $20-$30 to fix your headlights up. I'll post some pics in a second
