A word of advice: Make sure that you get RAM supported by the T480. I had a hell of a time when I upgraded without doing the proper research.

I maxed out to 32gb using a pair of these: Samsung 16gb DDR4

I am going to buy T480s today since it is the last sale day. I intended to order an 8GB RAM on board. Can I add this one? I am based in Korea so I prefer Samsung product.

Btw, is it a good choice to upgrade this SSD?

Thank you.

Couple followup questions;

  1. since the return window for the ram module might already be up, plus replacing the ram again twice would suck, would buying another stick from the same listing/vendor be just as good?
  2. i read that the issue with mismatched ram is usually the clock speed, and while at the time i didnt know why exactly, I knew it was important to make sure I got the same spec ram modules and just got one in 16 instead of 8 to avoid any complications with compatibility issues (if you are curious, i had 2x of these and replaced one of them with this) is this still bad?

Not too sure about which speeds will work but I'd stick with 2400 just to be on the safe side, it's plenty fast. As for 16gb + 4gb ram, I don't see why not. HP offeres 12gb which is in a 4+8 configuration.

As far as manufacturer I used Samsung. They make everything.
