Any SODIMM DDR3L kit of RAM will work fine then. Just make sure to specifically get DDR3L or it will not work.

For SSD, just get a cheap 2.5" drive in whatever size you want. I would recommend at least a 500Gb+ SSD.

For example, this RAM will work fine and this SSD would be a good option. That would put you in a good spot for it to last you a bit longer. These are what I use in my R1 steam machine that I run windows on.

I followed this video tutorial step by step:

https://youtu.be/rlhMCSb21LA

Took out the 1TB HDD and the 8GB of ram and replaced them with a 1TB Micron SSD and a 16GB RAM kit

Put everything the way the guide told me to, plugged the Mac mini in and now I’m not getting a signal and/or the really odd green static when plugged into a tv.

I tried putting back the original RAM and HDD but it still has the same problem.

I had no issues before I started the upgrade, with Mojave freshly installed n’ everything. I made sure I didn’t damage anything or unplug anything I shouldn’t have. But I’m really out of ideas what’s going on.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
