They make remotes for PCs. While you can use a remote start it's overkill on a massive level.

You can perform a hard shutdown/reset with it...as well as power on obviously. Been using mine for almost a year now and I love it.

It's an RF remote control for your power and reset button, just like your car's lock/unlock remote. There's also no BS - nothing to pair, no useless "app", nothing to break, works every time. It just needs a spare USB header (just for power I guess) and it splices in to your power and reset leads (with the included connectors - you don't have to actually splice it).

Windows has a setting to use the power button to turn off the monitor(s) instead of turning off or putting the computer to sleep - that's what I use it for. I keep it near my couch, and whenever I sit down to watch TV at night or something I use the remote to turn my monitors off.
