I have not experienced what you’re going through I’m sorry :( I don’t know if it is available where you are but I use Simple Water Boost Micellar Facial Gel Wash and that is FA safe and it does not dry out my skin. Also if you ever wonder what products you’re using that are FA safe all you have to do is look them up or paste the ingredients in this website and it can tell you all about your ingredients will flag anything not good.

I also use the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay as a spot treatment when I get any cystic acne (usually just hormonal) and I’ve found that works beautifully but you have to moisturize after because it is drying and you don’t want to mess up your moisture barrier.

Also as other people have said you might have ruined your moisture barrier. There are moisturizers that are FA safe that you should be using after washing your face. So yes the acne sucks and you really want to get rid of it but when doing so please don’t forget to moisturize. If you don’t moisturize it’s not going to get much better. I wish you the best of luck and hope your skin heals up soon. It can be emotionally taxing to have this happen to your skin so if you need to talk just PM me :)

I've been using it since the beginning of october. I started w/ once every three days. After three weeks, I added back in my vit C, then had to switch up my cleanser, so I only just went up to once every two days.

Skin-type: Sensitive. What sensitive means for me: sometimes my face will just burn and sting even with the same routine i've had for months. I can get really dry on my cheeks no matter how much I moisturize.

AM:

  1. Wash: Simple Water Boost Micellar Facial Gel Wash I prefer this to Cerave Hydrating cleanser because I felt like Cerave just wasn't washing my face. I could wash my face three times with Cerave and still have makeup come off on my towel. Simple doesn't do that. It also doesn't dry out my cheeks like other cleansers have.

  2. Clindamycin topical on affected areas (prescription)

  3. Vitamin C I like this one because it's made fresh when you buy it (they even write the date on the label). I keep it in my fridge. It was made on Aug 31 and it has yet to oxidize.

  4. Cerave Moisturizer

  5. Silky and Light Sun Milk sunscreen So far the only Asian sunscreen that hasn't broken me out. It's a bit shiny, has a fragrance, but is really easy to apply and makes my skin feel soft. No white cast.

Morning Routine usually takes about ten/fifteen minutes

    PM:

  6. Wash

  7. Tretinoin on a tret day (buffer w/ moisturizer on cheeks only right after wash, then wait 15 min prior to applying)

  8. Moisturize

  9. Petroleum jelly (thin layer) on tret day

Night routine takes less than five minutes on a regular day, +15 min on a tret day

I have used Dr Jart+ Cicapair Serum and Cream as well as a brightening cream from Kielh’s and it has cleared and evened my skin from dark spots a lot! (To be clear it was not acne, I don’t suffer from acne, but I did have a lot of redness and dark spots around my face which were cleared by those products).

For face cleanser I super recommend Simple Miscelar Water Gel Cleanser.. it is very gentle on the skin, yet very effective and hydrating. Around $7 on Amazon or you can find at almost any pharmacy or grocery store.

For toner I recommend a rosewater and glycerin spray. Around $8 on Amazon

And then the serum and cream I mentioned at the beginning.
