If you're talking the battery in the UMD area:

If you mean charging off a USB battery bank:

Can't say for a Go, but my PSP 1000 and my brothers PSP 3000 both charge off this cable (you can make it yourself, or you can purchase them from Amazon/eBay. I made mine): http://www.amazon.com/Data-Power-USB-Cable-Sony-PSP/dp/B000LEFKXC Don't use the Mini-USB end, instead use the PSP charge port end.

I can verify that as stated, the PSP 1/3000 AC adaptor outputs 1,500mA @ 5v. I can also verify that an LG G2, LG G3, Apple iPad 2, iPad 4, and iPhone 5S charger bricks all output 500/550mA @ 5v. All seem to work just fine to charge the official Sony PSP batteries in both systems. They take longer to charge fully, but they seem to actually charge better and last longer.

My laptop outputs 350mA @ 5v. This does not seem to be enough to charge either of the PSP systems. The light will flash once, then shut off and it will not charge. I'm afraid to leave it plugged in for very long like this because I don't want it frying my USB hub in my laptop. Plugging either into my desktop computer results in the PSP charging just like I plugged it into the power bricks I mentioned.

I have several battery packs for USB charging. Some work, some don't. The Anker 1,000mAh pack I have is one of the few I use dedicated to this because it does work. Its this one (It will output up to 3 amps, so it should do this just fine): http://www.amazon.com/Anker-10000mAh-Portable-Gerneration-Technology/dp/B009USAJCC

Surprisingly enough, one of the cheaper ones I have that does an amazing 5,500mAh works even better and lasts longer. Unfortunately, it was a gift for Christmas in 2014 and all the markings have all worn off so I don't know who makes it anymore. I believe it was an Energizer or a similar cheap brand.

You seem to be mistaking mAh with mA. (Amps.) Usually a mAh is how long its going to take the battery at max draw to dump an amp an hour. You need to look at the max mA output of the battery. Look for one that outputs over 350mA. Prefer the ones that put out more than 1 amp.

Sure you can. I do it all the time. It works pretty well.

That's possible. Do you have a local game store that you are chummy with? You can take the adapter there to see if it is working, assuming they sell PSPs.

You can also invest in something like this; https://www.amazon.com/Sony-PSP-Data-Power-USB-Cable/dp/B000LEFKXC

And use a phone power brick to charge your psp. Something like a 5 V 1500ma, or a 2000ma should work. If you have a Samsung phone charger, that will also work.

it only came with the usb cord, which has no markings. It's alright though, I found the amazon page for it, and it looks like it's a common problem. It's the voltage. Thanks for the help!
