It's been three years since I moved into my non-furnished apartment and I'm as happy as can be with the furniture I have. What I needed to get past was wanting everything at once. A year later I got a couch $600 off retail because it had a large dirt stain from the warehouse. (It was white but still easily cleaned off) I spent $230 there. I shopped like crazy for the cheapest things possible, but still the kind of things I wouldn't want to replace in another five years. Just go piece by piece and take your time.
