You need to change your perspective. Smoking is not relieving your anxiety, it's causing it. The only relief you are getting is the temporary relief from nicotine withdrawal. The thing is, the more you smoke, the more you want to smoke. When I quit about 6 years ago, I wrote down why I smoked, and why I wanted to quit. It became pretty obvious that I smoked because I was addicted to smoking. I was willing to smoke in the freezing cold just to ease the withdrawal. Does that sound like something enjoyable? Simply changing your outlook on smoking and ceasing to ingest nicotine is the best way I've found to quit. I've read Allen Carr's book on quitting drinking, and I'm sure the smoking book is similar. I didn't know about the book when I quit and I educated myself on http://www.whyquit.com. Quitting smoking is the single best thing you can do to improve your health. You owe it to yourself.

18 years, pack a day, went cold turkey, no aids (ecig or gum) no withdrawals to speak of. He even starts off with "smoke as you normally do while you listen to this".

And its about the price of another pack.

A bit late I know, but have you looked at this many people I know swear by it. I however went cold turkey, 16 years ago. Shame I can't seem to do the same with junk food :p
