Came here to post that. Strange Maps is the motherlode of all things strange in Cartography (and I'm a cartographer, sorta)
His book is excellent too - it's a selection of maps from the blog and seeing (and feeling) them on paper is great. Amazon link
I enjoy leafing through my copy of Strange Maps on occasion. More a coffee-table book than anything, but has some neat stuff that stretches the envelope of what map-making is and can be.
Some books I can recommend for map nerds: Strange Maps: An Atlas of Cartographic Curiosities, How to Lie With Maps, and a related book that's a bit more useful for data visualization - Visualize This: The FlowingData Guide to Design, Visualization, and Statistics.
The typographic maps from Axis Maps are pretty awesome and there's all kinds of map-related stuff on Etsy.
