So yeah, I'm sure my placement is trash and everything is overkill for my tiny apartment, but it sounds amazing and I couldn't be happier.
I have my my PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and Switch all hooked up off to the side running through the receiver.
I would stick with a ported sub, in that case. For $420 the SVS PB-1000 Is VERY hard to beat.
Click "Used". IQ HOME ENTERTAINMENT offers the PB-1000 New but open box for $419 + free shipping.
I've purchased multiple items from IQ and 100% would recommend
Max is right. Get rid of the up-firing atmos, and get a better sub, like an SVS PB1000 on Amazon from IQ open box for $420.

Hello,
I'm looking into replacing my Psw505 with a sub that hits deeper. My Psw505 can rattle the walls but it lacks punch. Looking around I found these two options in my price range,
Svs PB-1000 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00K88UMPW/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=AKR88PAWTQVN2&psc=1
Svs PB-2000 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I985V4U/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A2H3DYB5PUVNNI&psc=1
Both of these subs should have more punch then the Psw505 from what I've read.
I posted a picture of the room I'll be using the sub in. The room dimensions are 14'x11' usable space. My Psw505 is located on the left side of the room, not pictured. My main usage is movies/netflix 85%, gaming 10%, music 5%.
Are the subs I linked good options for what I want? Are there other options worth considering?
Thanks,
I could be Wrong but maybe I'd go: $1337

An array of 1000 smartphone speakers all around you might envelop you but it doesn't mean it will sound good. A good 5.1.2 will out do that 7.1.4 in terms of quality. Something like this:
So depending on which sub and how much on the extras you spend you should be around $1500 cad
Note, I am not from Canada, but know plenty of people there, and if its one thing I've learned is Gibby's Electronics.
They're the goto place for reasonably price, good equipment.
That said, Gibby's is offloading the Paradigm Series 7's for a really great price.
Bookshelf Pair: https://gibbyselectronicsupermarket.ca/product/paradigm-atom-monitor/ $299 CAD
Center Channel: https://gibbyselectronicsupermarket.ca/product/paradigm-monitor-center-1-v-7/ $279 CAD
Receiver: https://gibbyselectronicsupermarket.ca/product/denon-avr-x1400h-b-stock/ $369 CAD
Subwoofer: https://www.amazon.ca/SVS-PB-1000-Subwoofers-Black-Ash/dp/B00K88UMPW/ $675 CAD
It is just slightly over your $1500 CAD budget, but this right here, with absolutely BLOW away that HTIAB solution, even if it isn't a full 5.1 system.
Go reference premier if you can. You can get 2 x RP-250's for $600.
However I would suggest going with bookshelves. Get RP-150ms for $266/pair. That will give you $485 for subwoofer. You can get an svs-pb1000 for $419 from amazon. Use the rest of the money for speaker wires, subwoofer cable and banana plugs etc.

A subwoofer "under 25cm tall" will be a pretty wimpy subwoofer. Any reason you can't find another spot for the sub? I'm not sure you can easily find even an 8" driver subwoofer that will fit that requirement. And best to shoot for a high output 10" if not a 12" sub for a home theater setup.
But also a good idea to hold off for a bit so you can afford a good sub. This SVS PB-1000 would be an excellent choice for $500: https://www.amazon.com/SVS-PB-1000-Subwoofer-Black-Ash/dp/B00K88UMPW/
Are there any specific features I should be looking out for?
I saw this one on Amazon and it looks like it has good reviews: SVS PB-1000 Subwoofer (Black Ash) – 10-inch Driver, 300-Watts RMS, Ported Cabinet https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K88UMPW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_GUX1CbEG15MWG
I wanna give you a comparison build if you ditch wireless and go for a traditional passive speaker system. This is just an example:
That's a full-fledged 5.1 system that will knock the socks off of a soundbar or any wireless system for $975 total. Some quality oxygen-free copper 14AWG speaker wire, banana plugs and some raceways (or ghost wire https://www.amazon.com/Ghost-Adhesive-Speaker-Conductor-Sewell/dp/B079NTKWS2) would run you about an additional $100~$150.
If you have the room for it, replace the bookshelf L/R speakers with towers of equivalent price from the link I showed you above. And you can add a second sub in the future and 2 Atmos speakers on your ceiling. Totally modular.
You can even shell out a bit more and get ridiculously good bass performance to make your movies + games + music that much more immersive. I'd recommend either an HSU VTF-3 MK5 for around $600 (http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/vtf-2mk5.html), or an SVS PB-1000 (which I personally have and recommend) which runs around $430 used (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00K88UMPW/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all).
