Oh, I think I've got similar feet. I don't have wide feet particularly, it's that my foot doesn't slim down at all at my toes. I've been internet hunting for some nice canvas shoes, but I've not bought any, so I cannot confirm that any of these will work that well.

First, Keds come in wide in like, one style. But the heel might be too loose then (the only wides that didn't have crazy loose heels on me have been Sperrys). LLBean has a canvas shoe that looks similar, and they do have a good warranty. Taos Star and Taos Glyde are from a comfortable brand, but, like most shoes of the style, these do run a bit narrow. Hotter Mabel is pretty classic looking and is probably actually pretty comfortable. The toe looks less slim on these than a lot of others, and they also come in wide. If it didn't require shipping from the UK, they'd probably be the first I'd try. Sanuk is supposed to be comfortable and has a lot of canvas. Keen has canvas fashion sneakers: they're narrow for keen though, and have that thing over the toe still. They might work for you though. Palladium looks a lot like the Keens except more attractive. They're apparently a bit more wide friendly than a lot of canvas shoes, but quite unpadded, so you'd need to order a bit bigger and add an insole. Teva has a washed canvas sneaker. Sorel has some wacky looking ones that look to have plenty of toe room, and OluKai has canvas moccasins.

Anyway, of these, Hotter and Taos are the most likely to not require an insole, but may or may not have the toe room you require (it's not an easy thing to tell without trying them on). Also, sizing up can be helpful when a toe is too narrow, even if the shoe is then a bit long.

Edit: Oh, also, this pair of Croc fashion sneakers. They're probably very comfortable, although I'd question both traction and durability with Crocs.
