It does have a built in screen protector. Using the edge menu on the curve takes a little practice, but works. I do a lot with kids and outdoors as well as having one o fcb those positions at work where I am in meetings all the time, so my PM hone gets fumbled frequently, and so far the case has done its job.
The Lifeproof Fre case did work as well, but I did not want to have to spend that much a second time on a phone that was paid off. The replacement case was not around 2 years ago, bit hit the right balance points for me. It is probably a little bulkier than the Fre, but is 1/3 the price and actually seems easier to use the phone and might be easier to use.
