This is the first I've seen that people think live plants are absolutely vital for all fish like having a filter and heater.

OP made an aquarium for his niece than isn't a heaterless 1.5 gallon beta bowl with a gold fish in it. That's more than many parents/uncles/aunts can say. He could have done so. much. worse.

Okay so I am new to this whole thing thing and I don't have much time on my hands but I want to grow marmio balls. I know they don't like direct sunlight and are easy little creature but I still have a few questions.

  • Is a tank light okay for these little guys or is it to much

  • I know they like cold water so would they be alright in say room temperature in Canada which is around 20 c or less.

  • a lil tank 1.8 gallens I know they like currents but would they be alright with this small waterfall thing going on?

  • would 1.8 gal be enough water for four of this little agle balls?

  • I much would I need to change the water for this tank?

*since it's just going to be small plants is it safe to take the filter out? Or can I just leave it in?

Sorry for the lame questions about marmio ball care, I just want a cute nice little plant that I can spend my little of free time taking care of and I want them to be very happy little plants and it's hard to find exact information on the web so that is why I am here.
