"The Big Red One"
If you are going to watch it, make sure it's the "Reconstruction" version.
The studio gutted it for theatrical release with major cuts and edits. The theatrical version is pretty forgettable, but the "reconstructed" version is an outstanding WW2 movie. I believe that had the studio released the full version to theaters, it would be remembered up there with greats like "Patton" and "The Longest Day."
