Try setting some meaningful goals in studying and fitness and take up mindfulness.

Here's the book the changed by life, maybe it won't resonate with everyone, but I don't wanna hold back if I have a chance to help people who are as desperate for happiness as I was:

I miss your posts!

Love that book, here is a book about transcending belief as a concept, and all concepts as a whole: The Book of Not-Knowing.

Check it out, it's completely devoid of dogma in the strictest and loosest senses of the term.

Lol, for a whiny bitch, you can sure write a hella funny post XD Depression sucks the metaphorical donkey dick. I know what you mean about the existential shit though. Check out The Book of Not Knowing by Peter Ralston.

You'll have to do a lot of introspection, contemplation, meditation, pushing yourself, and a lot of research. Shrooms can offer a great peak (-experience) at what is possible, just as the other guy says, but you'll definitely need to do a lot of that research and contemplation afterward, if you want the great, ego-less state as your standard mode of being. Here are some of the best resources that I've come across:

http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/khema/bl095.html
http://www.arvindguptatoys.com/arvindgupta/tonyawareness.pdf
http://actualfreedom.com.au/actualism/path1.htm (website is gold but ignore Robert's comments on Buddhism because he seems a bit misinformed)

Other Great Authors/Sources: The Buddha, Nagarjuna, Thanissaro Bhikku, Peter Ralston, Greg Goode, Ciaran Healy (Ruthlesstruthdotcom and former RSD instructor), Nisargadatta, Adyashanti, Eckarte Tolle, Gurdjieff/Ouspensky, Chogyam Trungpa, Daniel Ingram (DharmaOverground), Bhante Henepola Gunaratana & many other Buddhist authors (
Metta meditation techniques are actually really great for subduing social anxiety), Jed Mckenna, Wei Wu Wei, TheHamiltonProject.blogspot.com, and many more..... The RSD instructors definitely have some good stuff to say about breaking out of social conditioning as well.

Anyway, just do some surfing and find the literature that feels comfortable to you. Expect to do a lot of re-reading and contemplation. After a while you'll slowly but surely start seeing the connections between all those resources/techniques, but also what you observe about your own life, which is the super cool and satisfying part about all this. If I had to choose one book to rule them all, I'd go with "The Book of Not Knowing" by Peter Ralston. Absolutely Amazing
