Though I am a published author in the education market and did work in publishing, I don't at present. I have worked my entire life in education-related pursuits. Have you read Diane Ravitch's book, The Language Police: How Pressure Groups Restrict What Students Learn (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, May 2003)? It's a very solid examination of this issue.
