You guys should check out The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets by Simon Singh. I got it as an audiobook, and it's really interesting!

This book is excellent, I just finished it from the library last month, it goes into extensive detail on many of the freeze frame gags (jokes such as these that require you to freeze fram the video to see them and interpret them, they were the inventor of this now used on other shows). Each chapter is a breakdown by mathematics and physics categories. They have a history of why and how they make it into the show in the book in detail and what the working process is for how the jokes make it into almost every episode. The baseball stadium had significant geometrical quirks. There are so many theorem hints and jokes on those theorems. And the list just goes on and on. Really a fun and in depth read.

As one of the nerds you were talking about in this podcast who loves the math jokes, I would highly recommend the Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets, using the wee link of course.

I really liked Innumeracy. It doesn't deal with the formulas so much as why other people don't like them.

The Simpsons Math was also pretty great.

Also, "The Simpsons and Their Mathematical Secrets" I just bought this book a few weeks ago, haven't had the chance to crack it open yet, but its on my short list. From what I understand its all about how the Simpsons trick you into learning math.

Those marvelous bastards.

Simpsons have all sorts of math hidden up in their shows. Apparently, some of the writers are math dorks (meant with all due respect).
